Avoid the Payday Loan Trap

February 7, 2012

Even if you are in serious financial trouble, avoid getting payday loans with no credit check. These kinds of loans are always difficult to repay. Think about it: if you are in such serious financial trouble that you would need a payday loan in the first place, how will you repay it and stay afloat during the next pay period? For example, say you make $1000 every two weeks, and take out a payday loan for $500. When the next pay period comes along, you have two choices: you can either pay off the loan, leaving you only $500 to survive when you would normally have $1000, or do what most people do and “roll over” the loan for another two weeks. Rolling over the loan, of course, involves paying another $20-$50 in fees. Many people end up paying hundreds or thousands of dollars in fees on these loans. Avoid this trap by not taking out such loans in the first place.

What to Remember when You Donate Car Assets

December 28, 2011

If you have decided to donate car assets, one thing you should remember is to ask the non-profit organization if they would welcome your help or not in selling or making use of your vehicle. If they are more than happy to accept your offer to help, you should start with giving the car a good wash-over.

Presentation is everything, after all, and the non-profit group is likely able to sell the vehicle for a better price if it looks its best. That means giving it a good drying as well. While you are at it, you should also work on primping its interior. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean its carpet and flooring. Have the seat covers laundered professionally as well.

If it is the first time for the non-profit group to accept a car donation, you and their representative should also take the time to discuss their options. Ultimately, they should choose what would bring more funds in to their treasury and thus have something to rely on during the rainy days.

I have only dabbled a little here and there but not enough to understand exactly how the process can work for my benefit. However a friend of mine just told me about his experience with forex trading on the Metatrader 4 platform with IC markets. At first I had a hard time following along but once I was able to understand the basics, his story seemed quite fascinating. In fact I am seriously thinking about trying the process out myself to see if it is something that can make me some extra money. Like everyone else I know, I sure could use that extra money for a number of things around here. Consultative Tax Rules Document

December 24, 2011

A newspaper yesterday published its consultative document on tax rules for personal pensions. This included information on annuities and other types of pension programs. The Federal Government is proposing it should be available in April 2012. That should coincide nicely with tax season and will help accountants make better decisions for their clients.

Norman Lamont MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, described the proposals as ‘a new deal for the 10 million employees in this country who do not belong to an occupational pension scheme – and a wider pensions choice for all employees. ‘

The main proposal is that tax reliefs for personal pensions, which it is planned will be available for all employed people irrespective of their membership of an occupational scheme, should be based broadly on the present rules for self-employed retirement annuities. This would mean that tax relief on personal pensions contributions would be available on contributions of up to 17.5 per cent of earnings.

My Retirement Woes Solved

November 3, 2011

John Cormey | LinkedInI’ve been very concerned about saving for retirement over the past several years. As a single woman who is approaching 50, I know I should have been more diligent up to this point, but I suppose there is no use looking in the rear view mirror. Today I decided to take control. I Googled Denver investment advisors to see if there were any qualified retirement planners in my area and I was pleased to find Jeremy and Lee Davis of J.L. Davis Financial Corporation in Greenwood Village. They seemed to take a no pressure approach to helping work through my financial woes. In fact, now that I’ve had the chance to sit down and talk with them, I know exactly how much I need to save each month to meet my goal of retiring at age 65. Fifteen years seems like a long way off, but I’m going to go into super saver mode so that I can retire comfortably and spend some time with my grandchildren.

October 30, 2011

Usually you will see the atm machines at their places until they are broken. However, in some cases, you will find that the machines are being upgraded overnight. The companies that install these machines often depend on software firms and machine manufacturers for a total upgrade. These guys try to make the software better in every other version. They also try to introduce new features. Sometimes the cards that use modern technology are not usable at some older machines. If most of the cards are upgraded, the old machines are replaced and new machines that can read these new cards are installed. Changing the machines is usually scheduled at night because during night, people are less likely to use the machines. On the other hand, the software can be changed anytime just by using a special interface and a secure computer. You may have noticed the interface change after the software is upgraded.

Thin Not Thick

October 7, 2011

Are you big on those theme funds? I am but I make sure to buy right at their initial release. The last one I bought into and sold made me a killing. I took my money and used it for a food trip. I visited restaurants and tried meals from all over the country. However, my real quest was for the best cheeseburger and onion rings I could find. One of the best places I found was in a little city about 15 minutes from the Mexican American border. The onion rings are the absolute greatest in the whole state of Texas and perhaps the whole United States. They are a thin version of the traditional thick onion rings. The batter is light and airy. There is very little grease and they served a huge platter of them with whatever you ordered. You could even eat them as a meal. That is big.
