Green Tea and Fitness

June 30, 2011

Brewing the right cup of tea can be a tricky business. The taste and aroma will not match the myth of Green Tea if it is not brewed right. Its health effects may also never manifest if it over brewed in which case the tea ends up being scalded. If under brewed, the effects are never really utilized. It is important to learn the right way and enjoy your cup of tea just the way you would want it. If you are using a tea bag, it is fairly simple. You have to boil a hot mug of water and dip the bag in it and brew it as per your taste. However, the real trick lies when making tea with loose leaf teas. The quantity of leaves and the time for brewing are absolutely crucial. It is essential that you are personally present as the process is not too long. You can then enjoy your tea fully.

Turtles All Around Us

June 30, 2011

We recently went on holiday to the Amirante Islands of the Seychelles. It wasn’t difficult to find somewhere to stay because there are so many Island resorts in that area. We left home hoping to capture beautiful images of the underwater world around the Seychelles, on camera. While diving on our second day there, we were fascinated to find our selves in the presence of a hawksbill turtle. Although these turtles inhabit that region, we were in awe never the less because we had never seen one that close before. He let us swim around him, and didn’t seem to be nervous of us in the least. We watched him forage on sponges, edible to him, yet poisonous to man. Spotted rabbit fishes swam around him waiting for their turn to eat the sponges too. We got as many pictures as we could before he turned and went on his merry way. As we returned to our resort we bumped into a man who told us that these turtles are actually a protected species. We felt privileged indeed.

Tattoo Styles Part 3

June 29, 2011

There are few things that can make you think that you

are potentially murderous and without the right counsel, you would be behind

bars. One of favorite stories from my history is when I met all the wrong

people in one day and then had to look for ways to avoid them for as long as I

lived. I met a great musician who was my desk mate back in preschool and sadly

he was too …let say blunt. How do you ask someone if they would like to spend

a night on the first day after one million years without seeing each other?

Then this other man, I could not understand what he was saying because he was

never talking about one thing but two other things almost at the same time.

Last but not least I met my best pal, she was so high and she kept talking

about the wing tattoos for girls on my chest. Trust me she was not talking in a low

tone …in the middle of …!WHY?

Symptoms of Seborrheic Dermatitis

June 29, 2011

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common condition that can affect a person at any time. Often called cradle cap when the condition affects an infant, dermatitis causes yellow or white crusty patched to form on the scalp, face, or neckline or in areas that oil forms in great amounts. It is not contagious, however, the condition can cause severe itching that can in turn lead to scratching and further infection of the infected area. Most of the symptoms of the condition are easily noticable and include skin lesions, plaques over a large area of skin, greasy or oily areas of skin, scaly skin, itching, redness, and loss of hair in the affected area. Treating seborrheic dermatitis is simple. Though a visit to a physcian can determine if this is what is affecting you, many over the counter medications can also be used to treat the condition. Expect as long as two weeks for the flakes to disappear.

Of Dog Names and Summer Pet Care

June 29, 2011

As the proud owner of a new puppy every day is like a new adventure. Both for you and the new pup. So let’s assume that you’ve selected an appropriate name from any of the many sources and lists of dog names that can be readily found, you have begun the socialization process, and your lives are settling into a routine.

Still, with the new dog comes new responsibilities. Especially if the latest addition to your family arrives late spring or early summer. Because even though dogs seem to revel in the long, warm dog days of summer, there are still things that can go wrong because of the heat or stupid things are owners let their dogs do.

Always have enough water available for your pet.

Never leave your dog inside a closed up car. That can be lethal.

Always engage your pet in some kind of activity that keeps them moving so they get their daily exercise, just plan on doing it in the early morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler.

Never leave your pet unattended around a swimming pool. Much like a child they need constant supervision in situations like that or disaster can strike.

Your new dog will become a part of the family before you know it no matter what name they go by. Be sure you take proper care to treat them like a family member should be treated and you all will enjoy summertime together.

Secured and Unsecured Loans

June 29, 2011

Taking a loan comes up only when we need cash for dire circumstances. Timely payment of the loan amount is very important as any failure of the repayment will lead to more financial stress. There are two major types of loans; secured loans and unsecured loans. The choice wholly depends on you and it should be done based on your needs.

Secured loans are generally associated with collateral requirements. It is secured with the collateral that the bank can use it against the failure of the loan repayment. However, while you take up unsecured loans there is no need to secure the loan with any collateral. The difference strongly lies on the rate of interest. In the case of unsecured loans the lenders use to charge a high rate of interest so that the borrower pays the loan back in time. Otherwise, the added up fees will make the loan expensive more than you can imagine. This will make your credit score to fall down that is a very bad sign for your financial future.

The Art of Pilates

June 28, 2011

How do you sit while reading a book? When walking, is your back always bent like that of most old people? Do you sometimes feel pain in your spinal cord? Or do your legs feel numb after walking for hours? Relax. You still have enough time to fix the way you walk, sit, or stand, but you need to be committed if you want to possess excellent posture and stronger, more flexible body parts.

You may have come across several books and audio tapes discussing how to have an excellent posture and a good, strong body, and all you need to do is apply the techniques they teach you. One of the most applied techniques that you can try yourself is those popularised by the carpenter Joseph Pilates. Pilates’ technique is a form of exercise originally designed for injured dancers. But today there are numerous people making their way to developing a healthier body utilising Pilates exercises. In fact this body exercise seems so simple yet consists of extensive movements and work.

Pilates focuses on improving the strength and flexibility of certain body parts and muscles. Aside from developing your core strength, Pilates is an effective way to do muscle toning, stretching, and relaxation. It consists of repetitive exercises and movements that will provide you a complete body work out, and at the same time help you to get more aware of how your body works, thus facilitate your mind-body connection.

For instance if you want to improve your posture then learn how to be more aware of your movements involving the use of your spine. The spine supports the weight of the body and its natural curves help to move freely. If you’re the type who frequently sit in front of the computer or the television for a long time then more likely your spine will move out of its natural S shape, which may eventually lead to back pains and other posture problems. Pilates can help your spine go back into its natural shape, allowing you to move more comfortably.

Pilates exercises can work and strengthen your muscles attached to your bones and fascia which will help the spinal column’s bones to get realigned and supported. Pilates technique works your muscles to build a powerhouse of strength that will support your spine as you sit, stand, or do other Pilates positions. The good thing about this technique moreover is that you need not worry about having bulky muscles for Pilates will only tone your stomach and pelvic muscles through low impact and stretching exercises. If you fancy trying pilates in beautiful surroundings, why not look into pilates holidays this Summer and try it out.

Hence when you practice Pilates regularly, you will not only achieve a better posture but you will also become more agile and flexible as you do your everyday activities. Actually doing Pilates exercises can be done by nearly anyone who wants to improve their body strength and is willing to spend an hour or two every day either at home or at a Pilates studio. However, the best and quickest way to learn the technique is to join a class and learn the basics under the guidance of a professional Pilates teacher. You can also have private or one-on-one lessons with a qualified fitness teacher especially if you need to tackle some specific health problems such as postural and back problems. The important thing is that you start as early as you can to avoid more health-related concerns in the future.

Great ACtion Shots with the Nikon Coolpix L24

June 27, 2011

I got to try out my new Nikon Coolpix L24 Digital Camera today. So far this is an awesome point-and-shoot camera!

Like most families with kids, we are always on the go. I had been looking for a compact camera that will fit easily in a pocket. The Nikon Coolpix L24 has great, automated settings. I am able to take great distant shots and close up shots as well. The auto focus on this lens is fast and accurate. What has really impressed me the most with Nilon’s digital camera is the detail it gave in the pictures I took at my son’s swim meet. You could see the detail in the water on my son as he was racing. The camera focused right where I wanted it too.

So far the Coolpix L24 has delivered more than I was even hoping for. It seems to be well built. I am expecting to get years of use out of this camera. I can’t wait to use it again!

Running a More Efficient Garden

June 27, 2011

My new garden was missing something. The room temperatures were getting higher than I was comfortable with. I decided to go with an electronic ballast. These new ballasts will offer me a better and more efficient way to light my garden. Along with the more powerful output, these new ballasts will also be able to function while producing less heat. My magnetic ballast makes more noise and produces more heat than anything else in my garden.

The new digital ballasts are also able to dim the output if desired. This is a great option to reduce the amount of light or to control the heat in the room. I am currently dimming the ballast and using a lower wattage ballast which is helping me control the indoor temperatures. I am glad I made the switch and the added cost is easily justified. The electrical savings alone will justify the purchase of this new equipment.

The 3 Clusters of Personality Disorders

June 26, 2011

Human as we are, we are created differently. Each one of us has different types of personality. Personality is best defined as an ingrained, enduring pattern of behaving and relating to self, other people and the environment. Once a personality becomes maladaptive, inflexible and alters the person’s activities of daily living, then it is called as a disorder.

The Vancouver counselling group states that if ones personality significantly interferes with the person’s normal functioning in the society or if it causes emotional distress, then this is considered to be a personality disorder or PD. There are different types of personality disorders; they are classified according to three clusters.

Cluster A, people who belong to this cluster of PD has an odd or eccentric behavior. On the other hand, a person who is under Cluster B appears to be dramatic, emotional or erratic. Lastly, the person who is anxious or fearful usually falls under the Cluster C.

My Second Try on Sigma 50mm 1.4 Lens

June 26, 2011

I have to tell you that my initial Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens purchase did not go so well. I had to return the first one and buy a second one to get a proper lens. My first lens had some serious problems. The problem is, whenever I adjusted the lens to take picture on the telephoto range, the lens was always out of focus below 25 feet. If I adjusted the focus for 25 feet, then I would not be in the desired portrait range. I have found this to be a bit annoying.

So, I had to send it back. Fortunately though, after hearing what a properly operating lens was capable of doing, I decided not to give up on this lens. The second lens I bought has dead on auto focus and I have to say that it is a true performer. In a variety of shooting styles, including wide aperture portraits and small aperture landscapes, this lens simply performs well.

I would recommend this lens for many shooters. However, make sure the store that you are getting it from has a proper return policy. Doing this will ensure that you can exchange the lens just in case you do not get a proper one.

We Need Web Site Traffic

June 26, 2011

I can’t believe its this difficult to get some decent traffic to a website. I think I deserve a fair shot at being seen. Its not like I’m doing anything shady. This is a legitimate business I’m running here. I just get overshadowed by these big name companies or people that have been here forever. You just can’t start up a new company and be seen by anyone these days. What I need to find is a good link building service to help me get started. As soon as people are able to find the website and tell other people about it, well be good to go. Its just not easy to get that kindling started. I don’t mind paying someone to get it started for me though. You have to spend money to make money after all. I think we’ve got a little left in the budget for something like this.
